A New Year

As an author I am always looking for new opportunities available to me. This can include presentations, author events, and opportunities to help other writers realize their dreams. So many do not follow their dreams, or forget their goals and drop them by the side of the road. It is never too late to get going and plug into your dreams and make them a reality. It is the second of January and it is time for you to realize what it is you want to accomplish this year. No matter whether your feat or goal is small or quite accomplished, taking a stab at it will most definitely increase your likelihood of success. One small step forward is magic and the chance to follow the rainbows in your future. Dreaming is a good thing!

I need to be back on board here as this is a true site to belong to. The social networking sites really are a hinderance to creativity for the most part. I need to be available to others and inspire my readers and audience.

It is good to be back here!

Summer Winds Down

As summer has begun to wind down, I'm on a book signing tour and am enjoying it tremendously. I had promised another book to be released at this time of the year, but it is still not ready. The creative muse has shown me that there is more material to be poured out for a variety of projects, and those musings cannot be ignored. The good news to this is, a lot of poetry has been created, a new novel and other books in the works. I do hope to have the time to work on the two books promised, a second poetry book, and the prequel to "The Cornstalks Are Whispering" which is in a neck and neck tie with another children's historical fictional book based in the present and is also a ghost story that tells history from the Civil War. Phew........A lot of writing and hopefully more production soon!!

A Long Over Due Post, August 26th 2010

When I wrote my last post, I had been in the beginning stages of long term physical therapy retraining so to speak. I had also traveled in May, June, and July which has made it virtually impossible to post here. If you are on facebook, you can find me there too!
This weekend I am holding my third book signing event in August, and would be happy to see you at the Borders Express inside of the Westland, Mall, Westland, Michigan at 1:00pm. Please stop by and support this fabulous book store and your favorite author, which I hope is me.

Writing Numerous Children's Stories

Writing for children is an intensive form of artistry. I am presently working on my prequel "Ghost Whisperer," which is the story that depicts the father Sam in my newly released book, "The Cornstalks Are Whispering," which is popular with children and adults alike. I am looking forward to completing my drafts of this new story so I can have it out and available in bookstores by the end of the summer! I'd like for it to debut around the same time that my Cornstalks was released last year. I'm excited to have another book written that is a part of a series.......Here's a closeup picture of my book, "The Cornstalks Are Whispering." Please purchase a copy from me or at your local bookstore or online venue.

Michigan's One Room School House Association's Annual Conference May 22 2010

As a Board Member for MORSA, I am looking forward to our upcoming one room school house conference in Okemos Michigan on Saturday, May 22 from 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m. The speakers will engage the audience in remembering the history of one room school houses that are still standing in Michigan, as well as teaching the conference attendees how to record an oral history and also some of the controversy that has surrounded the McGuffey readers. It will be an interesting and educational opportunity for those who are interested in one room school house history.

Additionally my books will be available for purchase and I do hope that those in attendance will want to purchase a copy of my book, "Haiku For You: With Some One Room School House History," published in March of 2009. "The Cornstalks Are Whispering," will also be available as it is a historical fiction/ghost story for children of all ages.

Veterans Fundraiser at Karma Coffeehouse in Wayne 5-16-2010

I will be holding a fundraiser on Sunday, May 16 at Karma Coffeehouse to raise funds and awareness for the plight of homeless veterans in Michigan. This project will assist the Michigan Veterans Foundation in Detroit, Michigan. Please stop by and show your support for veterans! The event will be held between 2:00pm and 5:00pm and the business is located at 3015 S. Wayne Road. You will be helping veterans start their lives over and give them an opportunity to reclaim their position in society. In addition to the funds we are proposing to raise, we are looking forward to donations of canned goods for the food pantry, as well as business attire for both women and men so that they can have a professional outfit to wear to a perspective interview. Yes, many individuals assume that the homeless veterans are only men and this is so not true. The faces of the women and men are a reminder as how lucky we are to have shelter, food, money and a safe place to call home.

Photos of Me

A Very Long Winter 2009-2010

These past few months have been treacherous in more ways than one. Trying to fight sinus infections while working on books, holding book signings and the like. It has been a struggle. I've been keeping up on facebook and myspace as best as I can. I do apologize for not being on here as much. You can stop by and meet me soon at upcoming events in Michigan. I'll have an author event at the Plymouth Library on April 17th where I'll be promoting all four of my published books. Perhaps I'll see you there!!

December Musings 2009

December has been a very busy month for Gerry and I. I had a few author events, and, hope to have a very busy 2010. I have a few scheduled events lined up for 2010 already, and, hope to book other author events and presentations throughout the year. Many of my fans are looking forward to my second book of poetry to debut in 2010. This book will be available by summer. I may have one or two more childrens books ready for publication by the end of 2010 as well as some other books I've been working on for a while. Writing, publishing and promoting, is my new slogan for the New Year! For all my writer friends, writing and rewriting is so essential to your continued success!
