My First Reprinted Article on Military.com

I am thrilled to have my work once again reaching a new audience, here in the United States, and overseas as well. One of my favorite pieces that I wrote recently for a major daily newspaper has been reprinted on Military.com. I feel that this kind of exposure of my work will enhance my credibility tremendously. I never thought about have my work reprinted either, or the importance of it. More importantly, the message that I've been trying to get out there is that Veterans such as myself and many others are working hard to provide programs and financial support for the veterans groups that we represent, as well as helping the individual members who need assistance. The fundraisers are especially important to those who are working as volunteers in the various veterans hospitals.
Plus, the group that I wrote about Plymouth-Canton's VVA 528 work tirelessly to promote veterans and make a positive contribution to the communities in which they provide volunteer services.
I look forward to promoting more veterans issues in Military.com, and letting active duty personnel know that when they return home, there is a place for them right beside me and all the other veterans who are working hard to make veterans lives the best it can possibly be. Plus, the commaraderie cannot be beat. It's something that all military people and veterans understand, the brotherhood and sisterhood is one that can stand the test of time.

My First Poetry Exhibit

I have wonderful news to share with all of my readers this week. I have been accepted into the Exhibition titled "Water Wonderland: Michigan's Fragile Resource, in Lowell Michigan. The Exhibition dates are September 13th - October 29, 2005, where poetry, haiku, and artwork will be on display. There will be a reception for the artists as well. I am looking forward to this opportunity as it will enhance my poetic endeavors, and show others my creativity.
I hope that I'll receive notification this week regarding the pieces that will be selected to display in this show.
It's most definitely an honor to have my work alongside many other artists and poets. I feel that sharing my haiku will enable others to learn and appreciate this artistic form too.
As I've focused on writing as many haiku as possible over the last couple of years, I believe that I can put together a nice poetry chapbook soon. I will probably start organizing some of my haiku soon for this poetic project.
