"A summer Haiku on New Year's Eve 2005"

Here's a cute Haiku that I wrote on December 30th 2005 and it's got a summer flavor to it. If you are from the East Coast you may appreciate this one!

Green sea grass protrudes
Glistening white sands sparkle
Snow crab exits fast

I'm actually in the mood to write about summer, and most definitely enjoy eating Snow Crab Legs, or King Crab Legs.....Some day I'll live by the sea, eat my crab legs, dig for my fresh Cherry Stone Clams, Mussels, and maybe even enjoy a fresh Quahaug from the local Gloucester Fisherman!

"New Year's Eve 2005"

It's hard to believe 2005 is coming to an end. This year really flew by, and it was quite the year. I know it was a very busy time for me. I accomplished a lot, and for that I am extremely grateful. My hard work has paid off and that is truly a blessing.
I have plenty of goals for 2006 and I look forward to reaching them. Of course it's always easy to say this on New Year's Eve when the possibilities are limitless. Hopefully the New Year will inspire me to produce more creative works!
Well, in less than two hours the midnight hour will strike, the ball will drop, and the New Year will motivate all of us!
Have a Safe and Happy New Year!

A Winter Haiku, December 25th 2005

Since I've been writing Haiku daily, I find that inspiration hits when there is a good picture to write about. The one that I found nice was a cute picture of what I feel is a truly white Christmas.
Even though it's cold where I reside, the temperature today is a bit warm for snow, so, here it is, my imaginary white christmas.

Frosted tree stands tall
Searching for the perfect star
Winter Wonderland

I think I'll pen a few additional Haiku later today!
I really wish that the snowflakes would return...

"The Writing Life Begins Shortly"

I am almost there. I can feel the energy returning, the pen is waiting, the paper is lined.........I have less than a week to go, and the free verse will be flowing.........I can't wait, it's been a long time since I could relax and be. I want to take ownership of my writing life once again.
In my last blog entry I wrote about an idea, and now, I can't even imagine what it was because I did not write it down! I figured between grading papers and creating lesson plans I would remember....Well you know how that goes.......If you have an idea, snatch it up, record it, and make sure you can find it when the time is right to write. Geez....I know it was a great idea, but, I guess I'll just have to come up with another one!
I look forward to many ideas that I will remember, and most definitely, write down!
Happy writing!

December Musings

I look forward to the opportunity to craft some neat poems during Christmas break this year. It's really hard to write quality material when one is inundated with teaching college! I do sneak in a Haiku or two during the week, and maybe a couple more on the weekend to keep the words flowing.
It is a bit more difficult to write on the sly when I know I should be doing something else like creating a lesson plan or grading papers...
However I feel that if I at least pretend to be writing poetry or a story I feel that I can teach better as well!
I had an idea this evening about something I wanted to write about, and now I just have to think about it and see if it will materialize possibly tomorrow..........
Actually, all kidding aside, I came up with an idea for a serious type of poem that might actually be viable.......Now all I have to do is set some time aside to write.
Of course I will be writing as I have a deadline with a newspaper/magazine this week, so I need to concentrate on that as well!
I figured a nice blog entry for the day would be essential, and keep me motivated to write, and write well!
