Eloise Update
Tonight I worked on some of my poetry regarding the Eloise exhibit which will be held in October. I believe that the deadline for submission is in September and I want to have the poetry ready before the actual due date if possible.
I find that I sometimes enjoy revisions or as I like to call them additional edits. I find that numerous edits are needed for longer pieces to ensure that my work is perfected to the best of my ability.
I know a writer who doesn't believe in edits and only writes final drafts. I find that is something that I am unable to do as I know my best work does not appear before a couple of edits. The only exception to this rule may be some of my Haiku poetry as I find it fairly easy to compose them. Over time though I notice that I may change a word here and there to paint a nicer picture.
I received a huge compliment a few days ago when a reader of my Haiku said that she could picture the pieces perfectly and also reminded her of some special places in her life. I am happy to be able to do that for my readers.
I have found that the readers of my new book of poetry enjoy it tremendously and keep reading it over and over again. "It's inspirational", one reader wrote. I, too, believe that my work is inspirational!
