May Musings
It's been quite a while since I've posted on this blog, but, I was very busy during the month of April with it being National Poetry Month. I was overwhelmed with preparing for book signings and doing actual poetry presentations. Additionally, I did a ton of research for my class titled, "Writing Your Life Story/Family History". It was an exceptional amount of work. I delved into things that I felt were really important for those who wanted to embark on that literary journey. I am fascinated with how history is shaped by our lives and those of our ancestors. No story should be left out, we all have something to contribute to history, and learn from it as well. One area that was particularly fascinating was the topic of census reports, with the earliest dating back to 1790. It's astounding how different things were in that time frame, and what was some of the earliest recordings regarding the brand new country that we live in. The structure of the first form was quite simple and doesn't ask too many questions. At any rate, it's an important piece of familial history here.
I also published my newest chapbook, "Cheryl's Musings". In it is a compilation of a day in the life of Cheryl and her writings and artistry which includes a mini how to guide in the second half for the fledgling writer to continue composing prose. The front cover has an ocean scene on it, and the back has a photo of the author, and another of her merchandise available at book signings and through her business. If you are interested in a copy, send her an e-mail at Peroinc5@comcast.net. The price for the chapbook is $11.00, and $2.00 for shipping and handling for a total of $13.00.
I will be writing more about my adventures during poetry month in upcoming blog entries!
I've got a book signing to prepare for, and if you are in the Canton, Michigan area, stop by the BearClaw Coffee shop to inquire about purchasing a book or chapbook from me!
