Writing & Photography Notes
I've been quite busy over the past few days. I wrapped up an article that I've been working on for a very long time. The assignment didn't agree with me.....It was just something to write that I felt had no apparent audience, and to explain that to my instructor I felt was a complete waste of time. I finally did mention it to someone who thought that they'd pass it on to her. When they did a letter was sent to me which I read and didn't think too much of it. I could have submitted some fluff, but, decided against that. I do feel that I did the subject matter justice, I just don't feel that there is a children's audience for it. I'm sure it'll come back to me all marked up, and I'll just sigh and say oh well. I know that it's an excellent piece and one that does not need any kind of markings on it. I've been in the writing business way too long to know the difference from one who is providing me with helpful comments, or another who is jealous of my craftmanship and expertise.
I've taken some time to photograph a few things here and there, and look forward to having the opportunity to take a slew of photographs over the next few weeks. More later!

Artistry Still Reigns Supreme
Even though I was not dubbed one of the "winners" for a local photography contest, I see that one of my submissions is posted live online. I consider that to mean that it is indeed a winner. I am an award winning fine arts photographer, and, my work has been exhibited and displayed in many artistic venues thus far. The caliber of my work speaks for itself.
If my work stunk I'd never have the opportunities that I do now. That I know for sure. Plus, I've been paid to have my work published in various newspapers and magazines. My work is always admired by viewers. When I went to the artists reception in Orion Township a couple of weeks ago, more than one individual was interested in my work. It is always fun to chat with those who are checking out the artistry of others.
I have to make a decision today on whether or not I want to enter into another show for the opportunity to sell my work at reduced rates to help out an art agency. We shall see........
The artist has to get back to work now........
Editing & Proofing
It has been a hectic week thus far. I've read over my galley proofs a couple of times trying to sort out various typing errors and misplaced spacing near my book title, or shall I say, lack there of.......
It's a pain to have to read through someone else's errors as I only have time to find mine......I do hope to have this part of my editing process wrapped up over the course of the next couple of days. That's my goal anyways..........I need to get back to my other manuscripts.
I also have to wrap up a non-fiction article for someone. I'm a bit behind on that just because of all of the other stuff that I have to do. It's important though that I finish that as soon as possible.
I'm not sure if I'll be researching anything this weekend with all that I have to do. I have other obligations as well that need to be met right away. I know that last week and the prior week I wrote a ton of material for my children's literary arts class, and at some point I plan on compiling all of that into a chapbook, and eventually another kids book. The material is there, and, when I have time, I'll try to work on that.
My focus of late has been around books and creating as many of them as possible. That's a good thing. It's just hard with limited time and energy. I'm sure you can relate to that too.
I'll need to focus on what's important..........
